Description:
Intended for anyone implementing or administering Microsoft SQL Server, this comprehensive workshop covers SQL Server database administration tasks, including installation, routine maintenance, and security management. How to troubleshoot server problems and monitor the server's performance also are covered. Other topics include backup and recovery, Web site integration, job scheduling, reporting services, bulk copy program (BCP), and data transformation services (DTS). Prerequisite: Although familiarity with SQL or Oracle is not required, some programming experience is helpful.

Audience:
Anyone administering Microsoft SQL Server.

Required Pre-Requesits:
A working knowledge of basic SQL
Knowledge of database concepts

Helpful Additional Pre-Requesits:
Some experience with any programming language such as Visual Basic, Java, C or C++

Format:
50% lecture & demonstration, 50% lab
40 hours class time
5 days or 12 evenings
